How to brew tea in the wild?

Since we are back in France, one of our great pleasures is to go for a walk in the fields and to take something to prepare a nice country tea.

At first, it seemed slightly complicated to organize ourselves to have everything we needed on hand, not to mention our three children.

Finally, we have developed small, simple tips that allow us to take advantage of them very easily whenever we feel like it. And nothing more relaxing and soothing than a walk in the middle of nature followed by a good tea in the fields ...

Leave- Let me tell you about our tips ...

What at first seemed the most complicated to me was having boiling water available. We have found two solutions, which we use alternately depending on the time we have and the amount of tea we want to drink.

  • The easiest is to have one or more insulated gourds which is filled with boiling water. We prefer this solution when we know that we just want to have tea for fun and that we will devote a maximum of half an hour to it.
  • The other solution is to have an alcohol stove and a stainless steel kettle - or a wood stove and a ceramic kettle, but transport is more risky. The water can thus be placed at room temperature in gourds. In this case, you must have the patience to wait for the stove to boil the water.

The second essential is a travel set: a gaiwan with a number of cups chosen according to the guests. The whole being well protected in a shell or a pouch. Travel sets have thus become our current passion.

Finally, all that remains is to find the tea that will suit our getaway: an invigorating wulong that will offer us the energy needed to resume walking, a fresh and thirst-quenching green tea to rest after a long walk, ...

The whole fitting into a very small backpack, all that remains is to decide on your next destination for a country tea ...
